La Sportiva’s Miura VS Wins Climbing Editors’ Choice Award

For the second year in a row, a new climbing shoe from La Sportiva has earned an Editor’s Choice award in Climbing magazine. In 2007, it was the radically down-turned Solution to win and in the Climbing 2008 shoe review the much-anticipated Miura VS was honored with the Editor’s Choice award.

The Miura VS defines the new wave of climbing shoe technology. It is an easy to use Velcro shoe with incredible edge control through its slingshot rand and power hinge system. In addition, it offers high pocket climbing performance and is equipped with Sticky Vibram XS Grip Rubber.

According to the editors at Climbing magazine, “The Miura VS was recognized for its high-end performance on a wide variety of terrain. The Velcro version shares the same asymmetrical, down-turned last and pointed toe as the classic Miura, creating a shoe equally fluent on thin faces and wicked overhangs. The Miura VS has a lined upper part but no lining underfoot, which allowed for a sensitive feel with only moderate stretch (about a half-size). Testers commented on the stickiness of the Vibrum XS Grip rubber. Ideal uses: moderate-to-hard face climbing; edging Bottom Line: Extremely high-performing and all around shoe.”

Does anyone know when it'll be available in the US?

They seem to say June 1st, but no one seems to carry them yet.
